Great Ideas for your Final Year Project
Every now and then I get to be quizzed from Juniors, batch-mates who are stuck with their FYPs, people inquiring this over the e-mail, friends from other universities in Karachi. The quiz is mostly about “How to select an FYP?!”
For a lot of people, selecting an FYP is getting to see a list published by their university/college and picking one! For others, it is some technology which they are really fascinated about, for some strange, unknown, and even irrational at times and they just want to do a project ON that technology. A few of them have no clue about doing a project so they just go and see in Electronics market that what projects are available ready-made and they pick one!
With all due respect to people who are stumbled with this question and fall under any of those categories above, This is not how it is SUPPOSED to be done. Then a lot of things don’t really happen how they are supposed to be so call it an other one!
My view about it is simple. Pick a problem from real world. There are thousands of them available out there and for God’s sake you are engineers so find that eye to see them at least when you are in final year! Then go online, try to find and study any relevant/similar work. Once you do so, start pulling things together by studying about technologies, components, skills to get it all done. Pick the most suitable one to your application and what fits in your budget and your skill-set. If you don’t know something, don’t get a panic attack! Nobody knows everything, you have got to learn it.
So by the end of it you should have an idea! Feel happy to have found it and start thinking about its implementation now!
And there you go! You are done! :-)
