Something more about Ddiyaarii (Diwali)
I just realized that it’s already been an year I posted last year’s Ddiyaarii blog entry, this year too, I celebrated Ddiyaarii at my hometown Ghotki in interior Sindh, Pakistan. I had lots of sweets and several types of home-made “laai” – a homemade sweet made out of sugar, ghee and dry-fruits – and fired tons of crackers again, it was fun to do it with my somewhat grown-up and reckless cousins this year.
Anyway, Thanks to Prof. Gul Agha for sharing following very informative and insightful links on the cultural connection of Sindh and Ddiyaari:

For those who might be interested, here is a youtube link to video of a vaaii (song) from Shah Abdul Latif’s Surr Samoondi sung by Allan Fakir.

Just to repeat the message, let’s hope that this Ddiyaarii has brought lights for our lives, our country’s situation and solutions to the problems we face. Happy Belated Ddiyaaarii everyone!
